Inscription from St. Helen's Stonegate
According to Francis Drake's Eboracum: or, the history and antiquities of the City of York, published in 1736, Bridget's church of St. Helen's Stonegate featured a stone with the following inscription:
This stone belongs to Mrs. Bridget Baskerville and her children, daughter to Humphrey Baskerville of Pontroybus in the county of Hereford, esquire; first wife to Mr. Luke Thurgood, son of Mr. Thurgood of Roundy in Bedfordshire; next wife to Mr. Phineas Hodgson son of alderman Hodgson, sometime lord-mayor of this city, by whome she had four sons and two daughters.
